Thoughts about God’s Capacity

So as a family, we were reading out of Job Chapter 12.  Verses 13-15 speak of God’s wisdom and strength, counsel and understanding as well as the fact that what He decides will be done according to his purposes.  It got me thinking about how we often limit God’s capability to our self imposed limitations, our views on what is possible based on our understanding and our self doubt or as my girls love to say ‘crippling self doubt’ or CSD.  Here I am in my 40’s still grappling with whether God will answer this prayer or that.  Still asking God whether I correctly interpreted His promises, His instructions, His Word.  Still stuffing the greatness of God into the workings of a small mindset.

How often do we find ourselves in that place?  Where we are seeing Yahweh, Elohim, the Creator of heaven and earth, the great I AM…as our minion – a small capsule shaped yellow being who will generally do as instructed by us.  Mais non!!! How can that be?!  We need to ask Him to reveal himself to us as He truly is.  Almighty God. Elohim. Creator of the heavens and the earth.  The great I AM.  He who is worthy of ALL honour and praise. The ONLY true living God. Let’s give Him the place only He deserves to be in.  The centre of every aspect of our lives.  Today.

Blessings!
